Excellent!,
I haven’t actually read this book as it was a gift for my oldest daughter. My son goes to Baylor where the author is an English professor and my daughter is a Christian counseling major at UT and the biggest 20 year old Harry Potter fan in the world. We got this for her for Christmas in the hopes that my son would have time to track down the professor at Baylor and have it autographed…while that didn’t work out, his sister thoroughly enjoyed the book. She said it brought a whole new perspective to the books for her and that she may go back and reread the books for the ?? time with these new thoughts on the story and writing style. I think everyone who criticizes the HP books for witchcraft and wizardry should read this book and see that yes, that’s the surface story but underneath is a beautiful Christian message not to be missed.

|If Hermione read “Harry Potter”,
I’m almost done with this book and the nerd in me can’t get enough of Garrett’s insights and research. For fans of the series and fans of literature, this is a must read analysis of the story and themes. Garrett’s close reading of the text and his ability to bring the movies, the story, the morality, and the Christian view together make this a perfect follow up to the Harry Potter series. I only wish he covered more ground.

|Calling all Harry Potter fans!,
If you love Harry Potter for deeper reasons other than it is a fun read, than this is the book. It goes deep into the crevices of Harry Potter and really shows you that this saga is far from a childrens series but a piece of literature that should be placed on the bookshelves next to the modern writers (Jodi Picoult, Alice Sebold, etc.) and the classic authors (Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, etc.).
