  • The wand is the ultimate weapon – Hold nothing back! Unleash an arsenal of formidable magic to defeat attackers, protect yourself from harm and evade capture.
  • Deadly enemies lurk around every corner – Fight Voldemort’s minions, including Death Eaters, Snatchers and Dementors. Overcome a host of fierce creatures attacking on instinct alone. No other Harry Potter game has had this level of action!
  • Become a master in stealth – Use the Invisibility Cloak, Polyjuice Potion and Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder to avoid detection and sneak past adversaries.
  • Unique cover mechanics – Use magic to create and wield cover. Throw your cover at enemies, turning defence into attack.
  • Powerful potions – Find potions that can be used to attack, escape, restore health or increase your luck.

The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 videogame is the most challenging yet, packed from start to finish with action and combat. Playing as Harry, you are on the run from the opening sequence, fighting for survival on a desperate and dangerous quest to locate and destroy Voldemort’s Horcruxes. There are no more lessons, no more training. This time the danger is real. It’s time to fight your life. The wand is the ultimate weapon

Disclaimer: This review is only for the Kinect portion of the game.
Every time I buy video games or movies without doing my homework I get burned! This game falls in that category…I bought it with the idea that you could play the whole thing with Kinect, and I was disappointed. It’s not that the Kinect challenges aren’t any fun, I just wish they weren’t such a tiny portion of the overall game. Each challenge takes about 5 minutes to complete. I find it entertaining, just not what I’d hoped for.

Not as bad as you would think…, November 18, 2010

Listen. I know that there are ton of people bashing this game. I am a fan of the series, and I feel like it is getting a bit of a harsh review. This game is not Gears of War. It is a licensed movie game. Based on that fact alone, you should know what you are getting into. This is not the most polished shooter in the world, but from a story telling perspective I found it to be enjoyable. The stealth sequences were fun and at times kept me on the seat of my pants. I am not a die hard gamer, so I actually enjoyed the fact that the enemies were not too difficult for me to figure out. The frantic pace of it was fun, and it left the door open for trying to find strategies for the different situations. I will say that I had a hard time telling what was good cover from the bad cover.

Overall, I think this is certainly a game that Harry Potter fans will enjoy. If you are going to see the movie, you should give this one a try. In my close circle of friends, we are split on this one. Check it out for yourself and see what you think.

Hugely disappointing. So very different from past games. Point and shoot, instead of click and explore.I would suggest waiting on this one, buy it cheap second hand.
